UAE and Meta launch programme to develop AI-powered wearable technology

The UAE Cyber Security Council and Meta have launched Wearables Studio UAE, a new programme focused on developing AI-powered experiences for wearable technologies. The initiative was announced in Dubai on Monday at GISEC Global 2026.

The programme is designed for UAE students, developers, entrepreneurs and startups and will provide technical training, mentorship, access to wearable technology and a practical build programme. Startupbootcamp will oversee participant outreach, workshops, mentoring and the final showcase.

The programme will culminate in a pitchathon and final showcase at GITEX Global 2026. Participants will work on applications across areas including tourism and cultural heritage, healthcare, education, Arabic AI companions and smart retail, with the top three teams sharing a $10,000 prize pool.
