Oman’s Ministry of Economy has officially announced increased monitoring of national price movements, market conditions, and supply chains in response to shifting global economic dynamics. The proactive measure comes as the Sultanate recorded an average inflation rate of approximately 2.9 percent during the first eight months of 2026, according to recent figures.
In an official statement, the ministry reaffirmed its commitment to implementing targeted policies and regulatory measures designed to ensure sustained market stability and the uninterrupted availability of essential goods. Authorities emphasized that the stepped-up oversight aims to mitigate the direct impact of external market fluctuations on the domestic economy and protect consumers from sudden supply chain disruptions.
