The Saudi-led coalition announced on Thursday that its forces successfully intercepted and destroyed six ballistic missiles launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia. The attacks were aimed at the western Saudi cities of Taif and Yanbu, according to a statement from coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki.
Al-Maliki confirmed that the air defense systems thwarted the attempted strikes, warning that all escalations and violations by the group will be dealt with firmly. Following the successful interceptions, Saudi Civil Defense authorities officially lifted early warning alerts that had been issued to residents across the affected regions.
