Telecom operator Etisalat is celebrating its 50th anniversary by gifting free data to its users across the UAE. Customers were notified on Tuesday that they will receive 1GB of free data for every year they have been with the provider. Subscribers on the Emirati plan will receive an enhanced 10GB of data for each year of loyalty. The complimentary data is valid for one week and can be claimed until October 13.

Founded in 1976 as the Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, Etisalat was the country’s first telecom operator and has driven major technological milestones, including introducing the internet to the UAE in 1995.

Beyond the free loyalty data, the company is rolling out a suite of anniversary perks. Customers can access discounts of up to 90 percent on selected devices, up to five times the usual data for postpaid users, and more than 10 special anniversary packages. Highlights include a one-time 50GB data pack for Dh200, valid for 30 days, and boosted roaming allowances offering 5GB of data instead of 2.5GB, alongside 500 roaming minutes.
