NCST and Aluminium Bahrain develop AI-powered turbine monitoring system

The Nasser Centre for Science and Technology (NCST), in collaboration with Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), has successfully launched an intelligent AI-powered system for monitoring gas turbines at Power Station 4. Developed by the center’s artificial intelligence research team, the platform aims to bolster predictive maintenance and reduce the risk of unplanned equipment failures.

The advanced system provides real-time analytics by evaluating performance indicators like compressor pressure and blade cooling efficiency. By comparing operational data against predictive models, engineers can detect early thermal imbalances and cooling port blockages, allowing for data-driven decisions that enhance Alba’s overall industrial asset reliability.
