The United Arab Emirates could experience above-average rainfall between October and January as the global El Niño climate pattern continues to strengthen. Experts at the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) indicate that while long-range weather models point to a potentially wetter season, the exact volume of precipitation remains uncertain and heavily dependent on localized pressure systems.
Meteorologists emphasized that a strong El Niño does not automatically guarantee severe storms or direct flooding within the UAE. Instead, the phenomenon alters wider atmospheric circulation, meaning that significant rainfall will only materialize if specific conditions—such as suitable moisture levels and low-pressure troughs—align over the region. Authorities urge residents to rely on official NCM updates rather than social media rumors as the country transitions into autumn, noting that daytime temperatures remain high while coastal areas may see increased fog.
