Cristiano Ronaldo raises Saudi scarf in solidarity amid Riyadh match delay

Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo raised a Saudi scarf in a heartfelt gesture of solidarity with the Kingdom during Al-Nassr’s AFC Champions League match against Neftchi Fergana at Alawwal Park in Riyadh.

The match’s kick-off was delayed after Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence issued a safety warning just 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

The security alert and Ronaldo’s subsequent gesture of support come as the Saudi capital has been targeted by missiles fired from Yemen-based Houthis in recent days.
