Saudi-led coalition destroys 136 Houthi military targets amid new Yemen offensive

The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen announced on Friday night that it launched a large-scale military operation, successfully destroying 136 Houthi military targets in areas controlled by the militia.

Coalition spokesperson Maj. Gen. Turki Al-Maliki stated that the operation focuses on dismantling the Houthis’ ballistic missile network and neutralizing their offensive capabilities. The coalition is simultaneously providing round-the-clock air support to Yemeni government forces advancing across multiple fronts.

The strikes coincide with “Operation Dawn of Yemen,” a military campaign initiated by Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi earlier this week to recapture Houthi-held territories. According to Yemeni Armed Forces spokesperson Brig. Gen. Majed Abdullah Al-Nadhib, government forces conducted over 2,750 strikes against Houthi positions within a 24-hour period. Preliminary battlefield assessments indicate that more than 1,400 Houthi fighters were neutralized and over 250 military vehicles were destroyed or damaged during the coordinated push aimed at restoring state institutions.
