One person was killed and 11 others were injured in an attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Sunday, Saudi authorities confirmed, a day after a Houthi-claimed strike on Saturday killed 13 and injured more than 300.
In an official statement, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) said Sunday’s attack caused the death of a Pakistani resident, while those injured are currently receiving treatment in hospital.
The authority added that the Sunday strike also resulted in property damage at the aviation hub, the full extent of which is currently being assessed.
King Khalid International Airport had already been closed and operations suspended following Saturday’s strike, leading to widespread flight cancellations across the Kingdom.
