Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman has officially commenced high-level talks with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev at the Palace of Independence in Astana.
The Omani leader was welcomed with a formal Guard of Honor and the performance of both national anthems before proceeding to restricted-format bilateral meetings. Sultan Haitham, who arrived in the Kazakh capital on October 5 for the two-day state visit, expressed his confidence that the negotiations would be highly substantive and successful.
The historic visit aims to significantly boost bilateral relations between the two nations. The October 5-6 agenda includes comprehensive negotiations, the signing of several key agreements, and joint participation by both leaders in the Kazakhstan-Oman Business Forum.
