The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) has reported a security incident occurring just 11 nautical miles off the coast of Khasab, Oman.

According to the maritime security agency’s latest update, a commercial tanker transiting through the strategic Strait of Hormuz was hailed by naval forces from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The vessel was explicitly instructed to alter its course and turn back, with warnings that it would be targeted if it failed to comply with the order.
