Saudi Arabia: Ministry Warns of Jail, Heavy Fines, and Deportation for Visa Overstayers

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has issued a firm reminder to all expatriates and visitors regarding the severe legal consequences of overstaying entry visas. As part of intensified efforts to streamline the 2026 Hajj season, the Ministry confirmed that violators will face up to six months in prison and fines reaching SR 50,000, followed by mandatory deportation.

The Ministry underscored that these strict measures are essential to maintaining the safety and security of all pilgrims. Authorities have urged all visitors to strictly comply with residency regulations and visa durations to ensure an organized and secure environment during the upcoming holy season.
