Saudi-led coalition thwarts Houthi ballistic missile attack on Khamis Mushait

The Saudi-led coalition successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile fired by Houthi militias toward the southern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait early Friday morning. The successful interception follows a marked escalation in cross-border hostilities over the past 24 hours.

On Thursday, Houthi forces launched a coordinated barrage against the Kingdom, which included four armed drones directed at Khamis Mushait and two additional ballistic missiles targeting both Khamis Mushait and the southwestern coastal city of Jazan. Coalition forces continue to monitor the situation and neutralize incoming airborne threats to protect civilian infrastructure and residential areas in Saudi Arabia’s southern region.
