The Kingdom of Bahrain has officially revoked the citizenship of 69 individuals found to have sympathized with or glorified Iranian hostile acts during the recent regional conflict. According to a statement from the Ministry of Interior (MOI), the measure follows a comprehensive security review and targets those convicted of communicating with foreign entities and inciting instability through social media.
The decision is part of a broader security crackdown in response to online activity deemed a threat to national order and public safety. Authorities confirmed that the legal move was carried out in accordance with the Bahraini Nationality Law, which allows for the revocation of citizenship in cases that harm the Kingdom’s interests or contradict the duty of loyalty to the state. Security agencies continue to monitor for digital content that undermines national stability during this period of heightened regional tension.
