The Sultanate of Oman has formally summoned the Iranian ambassador in Muscat to protest recent drone strikes that targeted sites within Omani territory. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs handed a strong protest note regarding the unauthorized aerial incursions affecting the strategic Musandam and al-Batinah regions.

The diplomatic move comes as Omani coastal authorities continue search and rescue operations for a missing crew member from the GFS Galaxy commercial vessel, which was targeted earlier in the week off the coast of Oman.
