In a bid to enhance road safety and reduce accidents, the Abu Dhabi Police have released a comprehensive nine-point guideline framework for e-bike and electric scooter riders. The directive mandates the strict use of personal protective equipment, including helmets and knee pads.
Authorities have emphasized that riders must stick strictly to designated cycling lanes, travel in the direction of traffic flow, and avoid public highways. Additional rules prohibit the use of earphones while riding and mandate strict adherence to designated speed limits to protect pedestrians and motorists.
