Sharjah Police highlight early intervention success after mother saves teenager from substance abuse

Sharjah Police have highlighted a successful rehabilitation case after a mother contacted authorities upon noticing sudden behavioral changes and unexplained spending by her 16-year-old son. Brigadier Majid Sultan Al Asam, Director of the Prevention and Drug Control Department, confirmed the timely report prevented the teenager from falling deeper into substance abuse.

Under the UAE’s specialized community protection programs, early voluntary reporting by family members allows individuals to receive complete medical and psychological treatment without facing criminal charges, reinforcing the critical role of parental vigilance.
