The Dubai Environment and Climate Change Authority (DECCA) highlighted on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, the ongoing conservation efforts at the 15.06-square-kilometer Al-Wohoosh Desert Reserve in Al Aweer.
Despite its modest geographical footprint, the reserve shelters 91 protected species—including 49 plants, 19 birds, and 8 reptile species—serving as a critical sanctuary for native desert ecosystems in the emirate.
