UAE authorities have launched a comprehensive investigation into the security incident aboard flydubai flight FZ1073 to determine if it was linked to “terrorist activity or purpose” or involved prior planning. UAE Attorney-General Dr. Hamad Saif Al Shamsi ordered the formation of a special Public Prosecution team to examine the mid-air altercation, which occurred on Wednesday on a flight en route from Dubai to Tel Aviv, forcing an emergency diversion to Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.

According to official statements, an altercation broke out in the aircraft’s flight deck, prompting other crew members travelling on board to intervene, secure the aircraft, and land it safely in Tabuk. The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority confirmed that injured crew members received medical care in Saudi Arabia, and flydubai deployed replacement aircraft to transport passengers. The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that local judicial authorities maintain jurisdiction over the investigation because the aircraft is registered in the UAE and flies the national flag, while urging the public to avoid circulating unverified speculation until the probe formally concludes.
