Bahrain’s Parliament is currently reviewing reports of BD84 million in unpaid utility bills as the government continues to subsidize nearly one-third of the nation’s electricity costs. As reported by News of Bahrain, the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) is simultaneously accelerating 54 new renewable energy projects. This dual-focus strategy aims to address the rising cost of generation while transitioning the Kingdom toward a 500MW solar power capacity to ensure long-term energy sustainability.
