Yemen’s Houthi group, backed by Iran, claimed responsibility for missile and drone attacks against what they described as sensitive targets in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.
The incident prompted Saudi authorities to issue air raid alerts and temporarily disrupted flight operations at King Khalid International Airport. The military coalition fighting the Houthis stated that its air defenses successfully intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched toward the city.
The attacks come amid escalating regional tensions, with the UN Security Council previously condemning the continued targeting of civilian and energy infrastructure in Saudi Arabia.
