Oil pollution linked to the grounded Caroline Bezengi tanker is threatening an estimated 40km stretch of coastline around Ras Madrakah in Oman.

Oman’s Environment Authority reported on Monday that specialised teams are conducting intensive environmental monitoring and response operations. Satellite imagery and numerical modelling are being utilised to track the oil slick’s movement, as authorities prioritise protecting environmentally sensitive coastal areas and marine ecosystems.
