Qatar has “categorically rejected” allegations made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his United Nations General Assembly address, dismissing claims that Doha is funding a global campaign to turn public opinion against Israel. Dr. Majed Al Ansari, Official Spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the accusations are an attempt to divert attention from the humanitarian consequences of Israel’s policies in the occupied Palestinian territories and serve domestic political calculations ahead of Israel’s October elections.

The Qatari delegation’s seats remained empty during the Israeli Prime Minister’s speech. Addressing the global shift in public sentiment, Al Ansari noted that attributing this change to a funded influence campaign insults the judgment of a generation witnessing events in real time. He added that if Israel wants to alter its international standing—noting that its politicians increasingly address empty halls—it must begin by respecting international law rather than searching for scapegoats.
