UAE deepens climate and infrastructure cooperation with Vanuatu

The UAE is expanding its bilateral engagement with Pacific Island nations following a high-level visit to the Republic of Vanuatu by Omar Shehadeh, Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Caribbean and Pacific States.

Discussions with senior Vanuatuan officials centered on expanding cooperation in renewable energy, climate resilience, and food and water security. The UAE reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Pacific Island climate priorities ahead of COP31, while Vanuatu committed to an active role at the upcoming 2026 United Nations Water Conference in Abu Dhabi.
