Saudi Arabia extends tax penalty waiver scheme for an additional six months until the end of 2026

Saudi Arabia has officially extended its initiative waiving select tax fines and financial penalties for taxpayers, granting an additional six-month grace period until December 31, 2026. The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) announced that the extension, approved by the Minister of Finance, takes effect on July 1 and covers taxpayers under all tax systems.

The initiative offers relief from fines associated with late tax registration, delayed payment, and late submission of tax returns, provided taxpayers are registered with ZATCA and settle their principal tax liabilities. The authority clarified that the waiver does not apply to penalties related to tax evasion or fines accrued after June 30, 2026, urging businesses to swiftly regularize their tax affairs.
