Qatar’s international reserves and foreign currency liquidity increased by 0.75 per cent in August, according to figures released by Qatar Central Bank.
The increase comes as Qatar continues to navigate a period of heightened regional uncertainty while maintaining its position as one of the world’s leading LNG exporters.
Strong external reserves provide the country with an important financial buffer during periods of market volatility, particularly when energy markets and shipping routes are under pressure.
Qatar’s economic position is being closely watched across the Gulf as disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz raise questions about energy flows, freight costs and global commodity markets.
