Bahrain records 2.2 percent growth in non-oil GDP for Q1 2026

Bahrain’s Ministry of Finance and National Economy reported that the country’s non-oil GDP at constant prices grew by 2.2 percent year-on-year during the first quarter of 2026.

Financial and insurance activities were the largest contributors, accounting for 19.7 percent of the non-oil economy. However, overall GDP at constant prices contracted by 3.8 percent in the quarter, largely driven by a 37.2 percent decline in oil activities linked to recent maritime traffic restrictions and scheduled maintenance.
