The General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai (GDRFA Dubai) deployed extra operational staff, technical support teams, and expanded Smart Gate capacity across Dubai International Airport (DXB) on Tuesday, August 18, 2026.

The move comes as hundreds of thousands of residents, citizens, and tourists return from summer holidays ahead of the upcoming school term. Dedicated ‘Red Carpet’ corridors and document-free processing gates have been activated to keep passport control processing times under 15 minutes during the travel peak.
