Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy intercepted and turned back six commercial vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday night. State media reported that the vessels were stopped with warning shots for allegedly using transit routes not approved by Iranian authorities.
The incident marks a continuation of heightened maritime confrontations in the strategic waterway.
