Kuwait: Massive Overhaul of Nationality and Residency Laws

Kuwait has implemented Decree-Law No. 52/2026, which introduces a strict three-month deadline for naturalized citizens to renounce foreign passports. For the broader expat community, a new residency fee structure under Article 22 (Family/Dependent visas) has been finalized, following the 2025 reforms. These updates aim to standardize procedures while introducing a minimum monthly salary requirement of KD 800 for expats wishing to sponsor spouses and children.
