More than 39,000 volunteers deployed to support Hajj operations in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabian municipal and religious authorities confirmed the successful deployment of over 39,000 active volunteers across Makkah and adjacent holy sites for the Hajj 2026 season. The volunteer cadres are integrated into multi-language teams tasked with assisting international pilgrims with domestic transport logistics, emergency health processing, crowd dynamics control, and on-site guidance.

Civil defense coordinators stated that this vast community mobilization operates as a fundamental logistical asset within the Kingdom’s broader operational strategy. The strategy is built to handle the complex transit patterns of millions of worshippers moving simultaneously through fixed ritual locations.
