Oman: Royal Decree Grants Citizenship to 226 Individuals

Sultan Haitham bin Tariq has issued Royal Decree No. 46/2026, granting Omani citizenship to 226 foreign nationals who met the country’s stringent naturalization criteria. The decree highlights the rigorous path to citizenship, which requires 15 years of continuous legal residence, Arabic language proficiency, and a stable income. This rare mass granting of citizenship is seen as a significant move in Oman’s long-term integration policy for skilled and long-term residents.
