Qatar’s Islamic finance sector continued to expand last year, with total assets reaching QAR718.5 billion in 2025, according to figures highlighted by Qatar News Agency.
The latest data shows that total bank assets in Qatar grew by 5.1% during the year, while the country’s banking system maintained capital and liquidity levels above regulatory requirements.
Islamic banks accounted for the largest share of the Islamic finance market, with assets of QAR616.5 billion.
Deposits at Islamic banks increased by 7.5% to QAR364.4 billion, while financing grew by 4.2% to QAR418.3 billion.
The figures point to continued expansion in Islamic banking and reinforce Qatar’s position as an important regional financial centre.
The growth also comes as banks across the Gulf invest heavily in digital services, sustainable finance and technology.
