Saudi Arabia resumes Umrah visa processing ahead of 2026 season

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has officially announced the resumption of Umrah visa processing for the 1448 AH season, beginning May 31, 2026. This proactive scheduling is part of the Kingdom’s broader initiative to regulate religious tourism and provide expats and international pilgrims ample time to secure travel permits via the Nusuk digital platform.

The announcement follows the highly successful processing of over 860,000 foreign pilgrims for the current Hajj season. Saudi authorities have notably expedited immigration systems this year, utilizing biometric kiosks and a ‘Hajj Without Luggage’ initiative to reduce airport processing times from two hours to just 15 minutes.
