Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has secured a $6.2 billion final investment decision (FID) to develop the offshore Umm Shaif Gas Cap project. The major expansion is a strategic partnership with TotalEnergies, Eni, and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
The project is expected to unlock more than 600 million standard cubic feet of gas per day by 2030, equating to nearly 10 percent of the UAE’s current daily consumption. ADNOC CEO Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber stated the investment accelerates the nation’s integrated gas strategy and expands its global LNG platform amid rising demand and regional supply vulnerabilities.
