The UAE expects to finalize negotiations for five to seven additional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA) before the end of 2026, according to Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade. The UAE has already successfully concluded 37 CEPAs, with 18 currently in force.
Ongoing negotiations include discussions with Canada, which are nearing completion, as well as final stages of talks with Rwanda, Ghana, and Zambia. The aggressive trade expansion is designed to improve the resilience of foreign trade and provide UAE companies with efficient access to diverse international markets.
