Bahrain condemns renewed Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia

Bahrain has strongly condemned the renewed Houthi attacks targeting civilians and vital facilities in Saudi Arabia.

The Bahraini position came after attacks on several Saudi cities and economic sites left dozens of people injured and affected energy facilities.

Manama reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and its support for measures taken by Riyadh to protect its territory, population and vital infrastructure.

The response adds Bahrain to a wider GCC diplomatic reaction to the latest escalation, with Qatar and Kuwait also condemning the attacks.

The developments are significant for Bahrain because of its close security and economic ties with Saudi Arabia and its location within the wider Gulf maritime and energy network.
