Kuwait authorities arrest expat-led gang for massive oil cable theft worth 420,000 dinars

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has arrested a criminal syndicate involving Arab and Asian expatriates, alongside local citizens, for stealing 400 tons of marine cables from the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). Utilizing forged documents, the group attempted to sell the stolen cables—valued at approximately KD 420,000 ($1.38 million)—at a local scrapyard before being intercepted by the criminal security sector.
