Kuwait Interior Ministry restricts domestic worker recruitment to 10 approved countries

Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has issued a new regulatory circular restricting the recruitment of domestic workers to 10 approved countries while prohibiting recruitment from 27 others. Under the updated directive, domestic workers may now be recruited from countries including the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, and Nepal, with procedures to be completed directly through governorate service centers. Officials noted that the measure, based on recommendations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Public Authority for Manpower, aims to strengthen oversight and regulate the domestic labor sector through revised administrative controls.
