Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy is moving into the execution phase of a major clean energy integration project, finalizing an 84.6 million Kuwaiti dinars ($275 million) contract award to construct critical overhead power transmission lines. The infrastructure initiative will construct 400 kV overhead lines directly linking the massive solar energy transformer station at the Shagaya Renewable Energy Complex to the Subiya Power Station. Scheduled for completion within 24 months, the project represents a major milestone in Kuwait’s broader strategy to diversify its generation mix and feed renewable power straight into the national grid. The massive utility rollout continues to attract international engineering expertise, sustaining a highly competitive job market for specialized expatriate technical professionals within the regional power sector.
