Oman announces midday work ban as summer temperatures approach 50 degrees

Oman’s Ministry of Labour has enacted its mandatory midday outdoor work restriction as seasonal summer weather drives afternoon temperatures close to the 50°C threshold across multiple desert and metropolitan governorates. The workplace safety mandate requires a full cessation of outdoor construction, commercial delivery operations, and open-air infrastructure work during high-heat afternoon windows.

Specialized occupational health inspectors have been deployed to perform unannounced industrial field audits. Authorities emphasized that severe statutory penalties, legal actions, and corporate operational blocks will be deployed against any enterprise failing to comply with the safety timeline.
