Oman’s Civil Aviation Authority has finalized an integrated operational blueprint for the 2026 Khareef Dhofar tourism season, scheduling a dramatic scale-up of flight capacity at Salalah Airport. To accommodate the anticipated surge of regional and international visitors escaping the peak summer heat, the airport will process 68 weekly international flights, featuring direct connections from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and major cities in India. Aviation officials emphasized that the coordinated strategy aligns ground handling, customs, and airline schedules to ensure a smooth transit experience. The enhanced flight connectivity offers a direct benefit to expatriate families across the Gulf planning seasonal holiday travel to Dhofar’s unique cool-weather climate without navigating high-friction multi-leg layovers.
