Qatar continues to demonstrate its commitment to public health, safety, and technological innovation. The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) recently organized a comprehensive awareness campaign on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day 2026. Under the slogan, “Don’t be deceived, it’s more dangerous than you think!”, the campaign aimed to educate the community about the risks associated with tobacco and nicotine products and to correct common misconceptions. This initiative underscores Qatar’s dedication to promoting a healthier lifestyle and protecting its citizens and residents from preventable diseases. In a significant stride towards technological advancement, Ooredoo Qatar, in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) and the Ministry of Defense, has established the nation’s first quantum-safe communications link. This pioneering achievement positions Qatar at the forefront of secure communication technologies, enhancing national security and fostering innovation in the digital realm. This project highlights the strategic importance Qatar places on cutting-edge research and development to secure its digital infrastructure. Economically, QatarEnergy announced the fuel prices for June 2026, maintaining diesel and 95-octane gasoline (super) at current levels, while 91-octane gasoline (premium) saw an adjustment. Such regular announcements reflect the transparent and stable economic environment in Qatar. Furthermore, the Qatar Central Bank Governor met with the Apollo Global Management CEO, indicating ongoing engagement with global financial leaders to strengthen Qatar’s economic ties and investment landscape. These efforts collectively contribute to a stable and prosperous environment for all residents, including the expatriate community.
