Qatar shuts down 17 travel and air cargo agencies in major licensing compliance crackdown

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has ordered the immediate closure of 17 travel and air cargo agencies across the country following an aggressive regulatory enforcement campaign. Conducted by the regulator’s Air Transport Department, the ongoing inspections target commercial operators that have failed to meet strict legal obligations and licensing parameters established under the state’s updated aviation guidelines.

The QCAA emphasized that the enforcement sweep is aimed at tightening market oversight and protecting the integrity of the local aviation supply chain. Moving forward, the authority has warned that non-compliant businesses will face severe legal penalties and urged all sector intermediaries to fully regularize their operating status under Law No. (3) of 2025 before offering commercial booking or logistics services to the public.
