Saudi Arabia and UAE brace for extreme heat as ‘Jamrat Al Qaydh’ begins

Saudi Arabia and the UAE have officially entered “Jamrat Al Qaydh,” the traditional astronomical period marking the most intense stretch of summer heat. Meteorologists warn that daytime temperatures could exceed 50°C in inland and desert areas over the coming weeks.

Accompanied by hot, dry winds and surging coastal humidity, the extreme weather is prompting local authorities to issue strict heat-safety guidelines. Residents are advised to avoid direct sun exposure during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated to prevent heat-related illnesses.
