Oman introduces sponsor-free residency visas for foreign property owners and investors

In a sweeping reform to attract foreign investment, Oman has amended its Foreigners Residence Law, allowing eligible foreign nationals to obtain residency visas without the need for a local Omani sponsor. The new regulations apply to expatriates who own residential units or land designated for development, even if the registration procedures are not yet complete. Issued by the Royal Oman Police, the amendments also extend these sponsor-free visa benefits to first-degree family members, offering a highly attractive pathway for long-term expatriate residency in the Sultanate.
